Sydney heritage carpentry company, Oriel Building Services boasts a reputation within the industry for high quality workmanship, timely completion and delivering the very best. Oriel knew who it was as a business, but the company wanted to understand itself better as a brand, to better inform its marketing strategies moving forward. WordSauce was asked to undertake a brand workshop to establish the who, what, why, where and how of Oriel. Via a series of online interviews, essential insights were gathered; strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT), primary and secondary audiences, industry competitors and best practice brands, unique selling point, brand values, benefits and personality, and desired tone of voice. A brand story and brand document were later crafted, highlighting the company’s unique skills, traditions and knowledge, followed by heritage and capability brochures and words to accompany the new Oriel website.
